Adriano Galliani is delighted Milan ‘belong to the Milanese again’ and proclaims they and Inter ‘are back in front of the Romans’.

Roma’s 3-0 derby defeat to Lazio at the weekend cut the two sides further adrift of Inter and Milan in Serie A’s top four.

“Gattuso? For me he’s been a truly great surprise,” Galliani told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“His character made me think that he hardly could’ve been a Coach, but instead he’s been amazing.

“The players are following him and the results are coming. The new owners deserve great credit, as well as also Leonardo, Maldini… Milan finally belong to the Milanese again.

“Paqueta? I like him a lot. I congratulate Leonardo because him and Piatek have made a difference.

“No team in Europe have strengthened as much as Milan. Stadium between Inter and Milan? I think a collaboration between the two teams could be the ideal solution.

“Derby? I never miss a Milan match, so I think I’ll also see this match. After so many years, it has something at stake.

“The Milanese are back in front of the Romans. I hope Milan and Inter both qualify for the Champions League.”

Finally, the former Rossoneri CEO – now at Serie C side Monza – was asked about the Mauro Icardi saga at Inter…

“Marotta’s a great director, so I won’t comment on it,” concluded the 74-year-old.
