Paulo Sousa will be in the stands to watch Porto-Roma on Wednesday, but Bordeaux say they are ‘optimistic’ about appointing the Portuguese Coach.
Sousa has been heavily linked with replacing Di Francesco, whose job is reportedly on the line ahead of tonight’s Champions League last-16 second leg in Portugal, but Bordeaux President Joe Grosa is confident he has got his man.
“We’re in talks and we’re optimistic,” Grosa told Canal+.
“We’d be very happy to have him here: an agreement is possible this week.”
When asked whether Sousa’s attendance at Estadio Dragao was inappropriate, Di Francesco replied at his pre-match Press conference: “I wouldn’t.
“There’s saying things and going to games around the world. Maybe it’ll happen to me one day. Why is he there? I don’t know…”
