Monchi has apologised for his angry exchange with supporters fans after Roma’s Champions League exit to Porto on Wednesday.
Monchi reportedly threatened Roma fans that he would ‘take on each of you one by one’ before boarding a flight back to the Italian capital, and the sporting director is now sorry for his remarks.
“I’ve read that my words were reported incorrectly,” he wrote on Instagram.
“It’s true that there was a moment when emotions ran high because of the huge disappointment that we all experienced.
“I apologise to all the fans and, in particular, those present at the airport. Forza Roma!!”
Ho letto che le mie parole sono state riportate in modo inesatto. È vero che c’è stato un momento di nervosismo, a causa della grande delusione che proviamo tutti. Me ne scuso con tutti i tifosi e in particolare con quelli presenti all’aereoporto in quel momento. Forza Roma!!
