The Italian tactician was dismissed on Thursday following a Champions League Round of 16 exit to Porto in extra time.

“Some have a very short memory and it’s shameful to fire Di Francesco,” said Olympique Marseille Coach Garcia in his Press conference.

“If you manage to take your team to the Champions League semi-finals, it means you are a good Coach. Unfortunately, at Roma more than in any other club, there is a lack of patience and a very short memory.

“Eusebio would certainly have done great things with Roma if he had been given more time.”

Garcia was on the Giallorossi bench from 2013 to January 2016, when he too was dismissed.

Di Francesco has been replaced by Claudio Ranieri as a caretaker manager to the end of the season.
