Zinedine Zidane has reportedly rejected the chance to return to Real Madrid, keeping Juventus in the running.

El Chiringuito claimed last week that Zidane agreed to coach Madrid next season, but El Pais insists that is not the case.

The latter explains Blancos President Florentino Perez asked a club employee to contact the Frenchman, but his response was ‘negative’.

Neither Perez nor his right-hand man Jose Angel Sanchez made the call as their relationship with Zizou would have ‘deteriorated’.

More importantly for Juve, El Pais writes they have ‘formally’ offered the 46-year-old a contract to replace Max Allegri until 2022.
