Join us for all the build-up and action as it happens from Claudio Ranieri’s debut on the Roma bench, as they host Empoli.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 19.30 GMT.
The Giallorossi fired Eusebio Di Francesco this week after back-to-back defeats against Lazio in the Derby della Capitale and FC Porto to knock them out of the Champions League.
Ranieri was himself only sacked by Fulham nine days before this move, but confessed he “could not say no” when his beloved Roma called.
The 67-year-old tactician is from the Eternal City and a lifelong Giallorossi supporter who already sat on this bench from September 2009 to February 2011, coming very close to the Scudetto in 2010.
This will therefore be his 85th competitive game as Roma Coach, the first since a 4-3 loss at Genoa on February 20, 2011 and so far he has 47 wins, 16 draws and 21 defeats.
While Roma need a positive result to stay in fifth place and within reach of the Champions League spots, Empoli are now only one point clear of the drop zone following Bologna’s victory over Cagliari.
They have one of the worst away records in Serie A, scraping just four draws and eight defeats on their travels this season.
