“The whole team was extraordinary in every way, including character and belief. It was the belief in ourselves that we needed, to believe we could do it,” the Italy international told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s not good to get a slap in the face and it would’ve been easier to start without a 2-0 deficit, but we always believed anyway over the last three weeks, despite everything.
“We worked together and every day the belief grew within the squad. In the end, that’s what happened.”
