Fabian earns Spain call-up

Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz has earned his first-ever Spain call-up, but Milan’s Suso misses out.

Fabian only joined Napoli from Real Betis last summer but has gone on to replace Marek Hamsik in their midfield.

He capitalises on a new-look Spain squad, which excludes stalwarts Isco, Koke and Thiago Alcantara, plus Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez.

However, Suso is not included after going almost two months without a goal or assist for Milan, although Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga retains his place, despite his feud with Maurizio Sarri last month.

La Roja begin their qualifying campaign for Euro 2020 against Norway on March 23, before travelling to Malta three days later.
