Stefano Pioli confessed ‘I still haven’t decided whether I’ll stay or leave’ after Fiorentina ‘came up short’ against Cagliari on Friday.
Cagliari condemned Fiorentina to their fourth game without a win, beating the Viola 2-1 to leave Pioli - whose contract expires this summer - lamenting what could have been in Sardinia.
“We could’ve done more in the first half, but technically speaking it was an evening where we came up short,” the Coach said after the match.
“If we don’t win, everything becomes more complicated because our rivals are flying at the moment. We should’ve put in a better performance.
“There’s still a long way to go, but we have to understand what we did wrong. Cagliari applied pressure, but we had what it took to make up for it.
“After two years I’ve decided what to bring to the table. When the time comes and we hold a meeting, I’ll have a clear idea of what worked and what didn’t.
“However, I still haven’t decided whether I’ll stay or leave.”
