Torino’s Gianluca Petrachi is reportedly Roma’s first choice to become their new sporting director.
According to Il Messaggero, Petrachi has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Monchi after Cristiano Giuntoli extended his contract with Napoli, while Piero Ausilio is expected to commit to inter.
The 50-year-old has been Toro’s sporting director since January 2010, establishing the Granata as a Serie A side in that time, while also discovering the likes of Ciro Immobile, Matteo Darmian and Andrea Belotti.
The newspaper writes the alternative is a partnership between in-house pair Francesco Totti and interim sporting director Ricky Massara.
