Stephan El Shaarawy has reportedly agreed terms on a new contract with Roma.
According to Calciomercato.com, El Shaarawy will earn €3m a season for the next five years.
Roma were forced to act, given the winger’s current deal expires next year, although he is not expected to put pen to paper until the summer.
The website adds West Ham United were ready to pounce for the 26-year-old if an agreement was not reached.
El Shaarawy has scored nine goals and provided six assists for the Giallorossi this season, culiminating in a recent Italy recall.
