Duvan Zapata’s agent has confessed that the Atalanta striker would join Inter. “Which player wouldn’t like to play for them?”
Zapata is having his most prolific season of his career, scoring 22 goals in 37 appearances for Atalanta, who signed the Colombian on loan with obligation to buy from Sampdoria last summer.
“It’s definitely been his best season since he played in Italy,” Fernando Schena told passioneinter.com.
“He’s worked very hard year after year to get to this level. He feels very good in Bergamo with the Atalanta jersey.”
The former Napoli attack has been put forward as a possible replacement for Mauro Icardi, so what does Schena think?
“There hasn’t been any direct contact between us and Inter yet, but I really think he could [replace Icardi],” he replied.
“After that it’ll be up to Inter. Obviously he’d like to go: which player wouldn’t like to play for Inter?
“The issue of being a starter is something Duvan will decide once some serious offers arrive, but he doesn’t fear competition.
“No-one is a guaranteed starter at any club, unless you’re Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Staying in Italy is his priority.”
