Edin Dzeko could reportedly be dropped for Roma’s upcoming match against Napoli as punishment for his alleged row with Stephan El Shaarawy.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the two forwards had such a vicious argument during half-time of their 2-1 defeat to SPAL that they very nearly came to blows, having to be pulled apart by teammates.
The same newspaper now suggests Roma are prepared to drop Dzeko for the showdown with Napoli next weekend.
It was El Shaarawy who was substituted during the SPAL game, but Coach Claudio Ranieri and the club are reported to be blaming Dzeko for the incident.
The Bosnia international has scored only seven Serie A goals this season and his €6m salary means the 33-year-old is most likely to be sold next term.
He could remain in Serie A, as Inter are believed to be interested.
