Bayern Munich right-back Rafinha has revealed that he rejected the chance to join Napoli last summer.
Rafinha played under Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern between 2016 and 2017, and the Brazilian claims he could have followed the Coach to Napoli.
“I often heard from Carletto,” he told Ale Oliveira in a YouTube interview.
“We exchanged several messages. I admire and respect Mr. Ancelotti very much. He invited me to go to Napoli.

“He called me several times during the holidays and told me, ‘Rafa, are you coming to Naples?’
“But I didn’t feel like it, out of loyalty for Bayern Munich. I’d just signed a new contract with the Germans and it didn’t seem right.
“I had a beautiful year-and-a-half with Ancelotti and I’m very close to him.”
The 33-year-old has played in Italy before, spending the 2010-11 campaign with Genoa.
