There are reports that Sampdoria could be sold to American fund York Capital Management for €130m with Gianluca Vialli as President within 24 hours.

Despite his continual denials of a sale or even a genuine offer on the table, current patron Massimo Ferrero is still expected to sell the Marassi side.

According to Telenord, a proposal worth €130m has been accepted and the paperwork could be signed overnight, with an announcement over the next 24-48 hours.

There is a Sampdoria board meeting scheduled for Friday, so that could well be the perfect venue to announce the takeover.

It’s reported to be an American hedge fund called York Capital, with investor Jamie Dinan leading the way, ready to install Samp legend Vialli as the new club President.

Dinan was said to be worth $2.1bn in 2018 and already part-owns NBA outfit the Milwaukee Bucks.

Dinan's advanced negotiations for the club are also reported by Calcio e Finanza, Sampnews and Primo Canale, although Telenord seem to believe the deal is done.
