Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists he has no plans to sell Raphael Varane this summer, in a blow to Juventus but a boost for Napoli.

Our sister site Football-Espana.net wrote on Tuesday that Varane was ‘edging closer’ to Juve, amidst speculation the defender wanted out of Madrid, who in turn were said to be targeting Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly as a replacement.

However, Zidane said at a Press conference: “I don’t want to imagine a Madrid without Varane.

“He’s still young, he’s been here for many years, he’s doing well. There are many things that have gone out saying he’s annoyed, but it’s part of the lives of the players.

“I see him in a good way. He hasn’t told me anything. The important thing is what he tells me, that he’s at the best club in the world,

“He knows it, he’s won a lot and I see him in a good way. My desire is to keep him at the club.”
