Aurelio Andreazzola insists Empoli proved they ‘weren’t Cinderella’ against Juventus as they host Napoli in Serie A on Tuesday.

Empoli were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Juve last weekend, which was also Andreazzoli’s first game back, and the Coach believes his side showed they deserved to be a top-flight team.

“We need a great performance,” he said at a Press conference.

“I can’t choose between playing badly and getting three points or playing well and losing because if you play badly against Napoli, it’s impossible to win.

“We’re facing a team who I think are incredible for the concepts they express. They showed at Roma to have a quiver full of important arrows.

“We must play very well, hoping they’re not in a state of grace. We all look at the table, even if someone says otherwise.

“Where we are is understandable, given our fixture list, but the game in Turin showed Empoli weren’t ‘Cinderella’, that we could play with everyone.

“We’re annoyed about how we lost at [Juventus] Stadium.”
