Atalanta are just four points behind fourth-placed Milan in Serie A with a game in hand, but they have won just one of their last three home matches and on Thursday face a Bologna side who have won three on the bounce.

“Our first big objective is to improve our performance levels at home,” Gasperini said at a Press conference.

“If we can take advantage of our home fixtures, we could get near the top. At this point of the season, every game can become difficult.

“I think about the game against Chievo, but I can see that it’s the case for everyone else. This is a decisive time for everyone and the results carry so much weight.

“Whoever is in an advantageous position has the opportunity to defend it in the last few games.

“We must try to find the solutions that we’ve missed lately, especially at home, like set-pieces, which can be important value us.

“Winning matches right now lets you take a double-jump. Mihajlovic’s done very well at giving Bologna a change of gear.

“He’s built a balanced but very attacking team.”
