Italy move up FIFA ranking

Italy have moved up a place to 17th in the FIFA World Ranking after opening their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with two wins.

Italy plummeted to 20th last year following their failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, which was also their worst-ever ranking.

However, the appointment of Roberto Mancini as CT has coincided with a steady upturn in fortunes, and victories over Finland and Liechtenstein see them overtake Mexico in 17th.

Belgium, France and Brazil stay in the top three, while the biggest gain in the top 20 was made by Germany, who jump three places to 13th.
