Valon Behrami’s season is over after Udinese confirmed the midfielder had fractured his fibula bone.
Behrami, who turns 34 later this month, was accidentally caught in the face from point-blank range by a clearance from one of his own teammates during Udinese’s 1-1 draw with Milan on Tuesday.
The ferocity of the blow left him dazed for a moment and had almost a whiplash-like effect, before he fell backwards and his studs appeared to remain stuck into the turf.
