Duvan Zapata is disappointed to be missing the showdown with Inter, but is “sure Atalanta will do well even without me.”

The Colombia international was on target in the 4-1 victory over Bologna this evening, but also received a yellow card for handball on a disallowed goal and will therefore be suspended this weekend.

“I was unlucky on that incident, but sooner or later, the booking had to arrive,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’ve got to continue along this path, as we know it’ll be tough against Inter on Sunday, but I’m sure Atalanta will do well even without me. We have some great forwards in the squad.”

Atalanta were 4-0 up against Bologna within 15 minutes, the first time any Serie A side has scored four so quickly since Juventus against Roma in 1932.

“The important thing is that we took control from the start. We’ve got a great team, it was a strong performance and I thank all my teammates, who are always so determined to win.”
