Two defeats and a draw have damaged Milan’s hopes of returning to the Champions League next season, and their preparations for Saturday’s Serie A showdown with Juventus have been hit by injuries to Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lucas Paqueta.

“We’ve struggled since the derby. We have to understand why,” Gattuso said at a Press conference.

“I hear about my relationship with Leonardo and Maldini, but there’s absolutely nothing [wrong].

“The conversations we’ve had are normal between Coaches and directors. The jam is on the field, because we’ve stopped shining. The rest is all talk.

“The match against Juve falls into place for us like a glove. A positive result would undoubtedly give us more morale.

“We were unlucky against Udinese. Gigio will be out for a week, while the Brazilian will be out for longer, between three weeks and a month.

“Romagnoli had a fever but will be there. Kessie and Calhanoglu are doing well and Conti will be back for our next game.

“History says we do better when we suffer, but our problems must be cleared quickly. Goals like the one against Udinese would never have happened a month ago.

“Whoever says we haven’t been playing well, I can live with that.”

The latest reports link the Coach with Roma, where he would reunite with former Italy teammate Francesco Totti…

“I still have two years left on my contract, my future is at Milan,” he asserted.

“I played with Allegri at Perugia, we won a League together. He’s the opposite of how I live this job.

“I remember never seeing him angry. Juve have already practically won the Scudetto, but the Bianconeri never give up.

“They’re a very good team, so we’ll need a great performance to bring home the points.”
