The Viola’s 2-2 draw with Roma saw them slide down the standings again and it is now improbable they’ll be able to fight for a Europa League place via Serie A.

However, they are in the Coppa Italia semi-final, having drawn 3-3 with Atalanta in the first leg, and could still qualify that way.

“There are still eight games to go, five of them on home turf, which will say a lot about our campaign. I ask people to wait until the end of the season to judge,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“I ask to wait before judging the work of the Coach, who will remain in Florence, and to stop saying there are no more objectives for us. We need to stay concentrated and it is our duty to give our best to the end of the season.

“If we win the Coppa Italia, it’ll be an historic campaign for Fiorentina. The club has always supported me and, when the time is right, we’ll sit down to talk about the future.”

Federico Chiesa is expected to start after shaking off a muscular injury, but Edimilson Fernandes is still out of action.

“Chiesa perhaps doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs, but I don’t know yet if he’ll start or come off the bench. I have nobody who particularly needs to be rested. It’s just a matter of finding that self-belief again and it can be achieved by winning this game.

“It won’t be simple, because Frosinone have one of their last chances of staying in Serie A. They are a more attacking side since Marco Baroni took over and are particularly dangerous on set plays, so Frosinone deserve our respect.”
