York Capital Management has reportedly switched its attentions from Sampdoria to Palermo.
York Capital only confirmed on Wednesday that they were in talks to buy Samp, but Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedulla writes they have not had ‘the necessary surge’.
With that in mind, Pedulla claims negotiations for the fund to invest in Palermo are in ‘full swing’ and ‘are already at an advanced stage’.
Both parties would have been holding discussions for ‘at least 10 days’, while some obstacles ‘have already been overcome’.
However, there is a need for caution as the Rosanero – who are third in Serie B – have seen three previous takeovers collapse.
It is also not clear whether former Samp and Juventus striker Gianluca Vialli would make the move to Sicily.
