Simone Inzaghi wants his Lazio side to break their taboo at San Siro when they face Milan in Saturday’s Champions League qualification showdown.

Lazio haven’t beaten the Rossoneri away from home in Serie A since September 1989 – which is a run of 17 losses and 11 draws.

“We’re playing an important game, which will count for our journey into Europe. I want a team with clear heads and the belief that they’re strong,” the Biancocelesti Coach stated at his Press conference.

“We’re confident going into tomorrow’s game, but against Sassuolo and SPAL it just didn’t happen for us.”

Inzaghi’s men are winless in their last two League matches, and he went on to talk about his team’s poor record at San Siro.

“We haven’t won at Milan for a while, but all taboos are made to be broken,” he continued.

“We have already beaten Juventus and won before in Milan against Inter.

“The starting XI is almost decided. I just have doubts over who will partner Francesco Acerbi in defence.

“Stefan Radu’s ankle injury hasn’t healed and we have decided he won’t be risked, while Adam Marusic hasn’t recovered from the injury he picked up against Sassuolo.

“Valon Berisha has a calf problem and Milan Badelj is suspended.”

After a list of controversies involving the VARs and referees, Inzaghi spoke about the decision to designate Gianluca Rocchi as the match official.

“For me, he is a guarantee at European level,” he concluded.

“Tomorrow that will be important for all the fans who will be there and the importance of the game.”
