An official statement from Valencia confirmed Italian international Cristiano Piccini was discharged from hospital this morning after “renal trauma.”
The right-back suffered a heavy impact to his right side in Los Ches 3-1 victory over Levante UD last night, was substituted and brought immediately to hospital.
“Cristiano Piccini underwent medical tests and was diagnosed with renal trauma after Sunday's game against Levante UD. The Italian stayed in hospital overnight for observation, and after further evaluation was discharged on Monday at midday,” read the statement.
Piccini joined Valencia from Sporting Lisbon in the summer and has played 33 times for the Andalusian side while also winning three caps for his national team.
