Sampdoria technical director Walter Sabatini has reportedly resigned following a row with President Massimo Ferrero.
The incident occurred after a 3-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Bologna, a result that again practically destroyed their hopes of a Europa League spot.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sabatini handed in his resignation and has no intention of going back on this decision.
The chain-smoking director worked for Roma and Inter before coming to Samp.
President Ferrero had already raised eyebrows before the match at the Stadio Dall’Ara, when he went to give Bologna (and former Samp) Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic a big hug.
“He’s the best Coach in the world!” declared Ferrero to reporters, which won’t have pleased his current tactician Marco Giampaolo.
