Tudor: 'Udinese battle with Atalanta'

Udinese Coach Igor Tudor expects a battle with high-flying Atalanta in tomorrow evening’s vital clash at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

It kicks off on Monday at 18.00 UK time (17.00 GMT), click here for a match preview.

The Friulian technician talked up the importance of this game in avoiding relegation, especially after Empoli’s defeat to Bologna left them closest to the drop zone.

“Tomorrow in Bergamo we expect a battle against a high-quality team that is playing for the Champions League,” said Tudor in his Press conference.

“We want to make a good impression, a good performance. We are aware of our qualities and want to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the league.”

Atalanta were in action on Thursday night, coming back to beat Fiorentina 2-1 and book their place in the Coppa Italia Final.

“I hope they have lost some of their usual energy after the Coppa Italia semi-final, but winning such an important game can give players an extra boost.

“We have to focus on ourselves. This is what we can work on, the players are working hard this week as we finally had a full week to work on the training field.”

The Bianconeri are winless in their last three Serie A games and currently sit just four points above the drop zone.

The injury crisis is intensifying, with Seko Fofana, William Troost-Ekong, Nicolas Opoku, Hidde Ter-Avest, Valon Behrami and Antonin Barak unavailable.

Udinese squad for Atalanta: Nicolas, Musso, Perisan, De Maio, Nuytinck, Samir, Stryger Larsen, Wilmot, Zeegelaar, Badu, D'Alessandro, De Paul, Hallfredsson, Mandragora, Micin, Sandro, Lasagna, Okaka, Pussetto, Teodorczyk
