Parma Coach Roberto D’Aversa rued a missed chance by Gervinho and their failure to take the three points against Chievo, but admitted his side are now “almost safe” from relegation.

The Ducali drew 1-1 away to already relegated Chievo today and that stalemate made it four draws in a row for the Gialloblu, who are now in 15th place, eight points ahead of Empoli.

“Safety has yet to be achieved, but we’re almost there. We have regrets as we did well to take the lead, but then we couldn’t see the game out,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We started the game well, but in the second half we conceded after Gervinho missed a glorious chance. Then, in the end, we risked losing the game.

“This was still a good point though, as it brings us closer to our goal of mathematical safety.”

D’Aversa was then asked about his future at the Stadio Tardini.

“The sporting director and I will sit down at the end of the season to discuss my future, but for the moment I am only focused on achieving safety.”
