The Rossoneri slipped from fourth place down to sixth and will be seventh if Atalanta get a result against Udinese on Monday.

“It’s all going badly, every incident seems to go against us, but we can’t stop believing,” Cutrone told Sky Sport Italia.

“It really would all be futile if we stopped believing. Everyone has to give something more, so that we can do better in the next few games.

“If you don’t even have grit and hard work, then you can’t face up to these matches. From first to last, we’ve all got to give more.”

After the opening Andrea Belotti penalty, Milan seemed to lose their heads, including captain Alessio Romagnoli sent off for sarcastically applauding the referee.

“We tried to react, but after the second goal, we just switched off. We had started well and had a good first half, but after those two incidents, we just fell away.”
