Report: Milan in five-day ritiro

Milan have reportedly been put in ritiro for five days after Tiemoue Bakayoko was ‘over an hour late’ for training.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the punitive training camp will last between 15:00 BST on Thursday until Monday, when Milan face Bologna in their next Serie A match.

The broadcaster explains Gennaro Gattuso took the drastic measure after Bakayoko was over an hour late for training on Wednesday, only working with the squad for the final 10 minutes of their session.

That would have infuriated Gattuso, who announced his decision in front of the team, despite pleas from his players to change his mind.

The Rossoneri have yet to take up their €35m option to buy the Chelsea loanee, and he is now expected to be given a heavy fine.
