Sassuolo Coach Roberto De Zerbi is happy his side have secured safety and believes the 2-2 draw with Frosinone was the “right result” in the end.

The Neroverdi had to fight back from two goals down against the Canarini today, but that point moved them up into tenth position and assured their stay in Serie A for another year.

“It was the right result,” the technician told Radio Rai1 after the match.

“We conceded two soft goals, the first a shot from outside the box and the second just after we had hit the post.

“We could have been more precise in the decisive areas of the pitch. The wet weather made the field difficult to play on and we needed to be smarter with how we used the ball.

“Today we have reached mathematical safety and we are happy. We have three more games left to play and we want to put in some good performances.”

The result also means that Frosinone are doomed to relegation along with Chievo.

“Nothing was made easy for us, so we don’t want to make anything easy for anyone else, we want to do our best,” continued De Zerbi.

“We have a lot of young players here and we are not mature yet. We still have plenty of work to do.”
