Diego Godin’s three-year contract with Inter has reportedly been deposited with Lega Serie A.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Godin agreed to join Inter at the start of the year.

The Uruguayan was able to negotiate with clubs outside of Spain as he had entered the final six months of his Atletico Madrid deal.

The newspaper adds he underwent a medical ‘abroad’ and will earn €6m net a season plus bonuses at San Siro.

Commissions would also be closer to those in the deal that took Kwadwo Asamoah to the Nerazzurri last summer (€2.3m) than what they paid to sign Stefan de Vrij (€7.3m).

The depositing of contracts with Serie A before the summer is commonplace for Bosman free transfers, while the 33-year-old announced he would leave Atleti earlier in the week
