Lorenzo Colombo converted a penalty, Mario Soriano equalised for Spain, but Italy took control after the break with Lorenzo Moretti, Lorenzo Pirola and another Sebastiano Esposito spot-kick.

The other quarter-finals are France v Czech Republic and Belgium v Netherlands.
