Italy have named their squad for the U-20 World Cup, which includes Milan goalkeeper Alessandro Plizzari and Roma’s Luca Pellegrini.
Plizzari keeps his place from the last U-20 World Cup two years ago, when Italy finished third with the likes of Nicolo Barella, Rolando Mandragora and tournament top scorer Riccardo Orsolini.
Pellegrini, meanwhile, has spent the second half of this season on loan at Cagliari and is considered the Azzurri’s left-back of the future.
There is also a call-up for Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti, who has scored five goals in 27 appearances for Frosinone during a loan spell.
Italy are in Group B with Mexico, Japan and Ecuador, while the competition will be contested between May 23 and June 15.
England are the holders but will not be able to defend the trophy after losing a playoff to Norway.
