There were already angry banners placed around the city overnight, slamming the club as ‘Just business’ and ‘a funeral parlour for players.’

After some ultras staged a sit-in at the Trigoria training ground today, De Rossi, Coach Ranieri and director of sport Massara walked outside to meet with them under the driving rain.

It’s reported by the Corriere dello Sport, La Repubblica and others who witnessed the meeting that De Rossi confessed the decision came from Boston, in other words President Jim Pallotta.

He nonetheless tried to reassure them that he did not want trouble and would continue to support Roma.
