Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta have been the surprise outfit of the season, as they currently sit in fourth place in Serie A and as things stand would qualify for the Champions League.
This is also their first Coppa Italia Final since 1996 and the opportunity for the club to clinch only its second ever major trophy, having won the Coppa all the way back in 1963.
Atalanta have scored 99 goals in 46 competitive matches this season, having started in the Europa League preliminary rounds on July 26.
Lazio are more habitually at this level, reaching the Final for the fourth time in six years, although during that period they only won it in 2013.
This is their 10th participation in the Final and so far the Aquile have won it six times.
