Zidane had been linked with the role several months ago, before accepting a return to Madrid in March, signing a contract to June 2022.

However, the situation might not be so clear-cut, because the Coach was extremely irritable in today’s Press conference.

He snapped at reporters when they repeatedly asked him about transfer deals, then hit out at criticism of his picks.

“I am the one to say who is the first, second and third goalkeeper. I decide the team, understood? If that is not the case, then I will leave.”

There are other reasons why Zidane should be considered a very real option for the Juventus job.

Calciomercato.com point out the changes to the Italian tax code this year mean that any salary paid to a foreign worker coming into the country would be at a far lower tax rate than for a homegrown figure.

Zidane wore the Juventus jersey from 1996 to 2001 and has always said he’d love the opportunity to return to Turin.
