The striker is retiring at the age of 40, having been part of the squad that earned its first ever promotion to Serie A back in 2002.
Today is his final game at the Bentegodi and the Flying Donkeys are retiring his Number 31 jersey.
“Sergio will be the President of Chievo. I think that is the role best suited to him,” current President Campedelli told DAZN.

“We haven’t talked about it yet, but I don’t think we even need to. When he’ll physically hang his boots up, we’ll sit down and discuss it, but that is the main idea.”
