'Joao Mario not on Everton agenda'

Everton boss Marco Silva has played down speculation linking his club with Inter midfielder Joao Mario. “He’s not on the table.”

Inter were reportedly hoping to swap Joao Mario for Richarlison in a player-plus-cash deal, but Silva made it clear Everton were not interested in his fellow Portuguese.

“There are specific positions where we want to improve,” he told O Jogo.

“Joao Mario is an Inter player and there’s nothing else to it. He was my player, I was the one who gave him his debut for Sporting [CP].

“He’s had a very good season, he’s at a high level for the club he plays, but right now he’s not on the table.”

The 26-year-old is no stranger to England, having spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United.
