It is now being reported that Chelsea will give Coach Maurizio Sarri one more year at the helm.
Sarri had been increasingly linked with a return to Italy, in particular to replace Max Allegri at Juventus.
That was on the proviso that Chelsea would turn to club legend and Derby County boss Frank Lampard.
However, the Sun – which runs the story as an exclusive – claims the Blues will not sack the 60-year-old as they want Lampard to ‘spend another 12 months learning the ropes’.
The Englishman has guided Derby into a playoff Final for a place in the Premer League next season, in only his first season as a Coach.
On the other hand, the newspaper stresses Chelsea will not stand in the way of the former Napoli tactician if Juve pay £5m (€5.7m) to release him from his contract
