Lukaku edges closer to Inter

Inter have reportedly agreed a five-year contract with Romelu Lukaku worth €7.5m per year plus bonuses, but must work out a transfer fee with Manchester United.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the striker has given the go-ahead after his representatives whittled down the details of personal terms.

It would be a five-year contract worth €7.5m per season net plus performance-related bonuses.

The Belgium international had already been a main target for Antonio Conte at Chelsea last year and was one of the first requests made when the idea of replacing Luciano Spalletti came about.

Sport Mediaset claim Conte is already in Milan today, but Inter are holding off on announcing he is the new Coach as a sign of respect for Spalletti.

That is because the current tactician’s brother died this morning.

Lukaku’s introduction to the Inter squad inevitably leads to Mauro Icardi’s exit and Manchester United are among the candidates to sign the Argentine.
