Inter are stepping up negotiations with Cagliari for €50m-rated Nicolò Barella, including Yann Karamoh as part of the package.
Multiple sources note Barella’s agent Alessandro Beltrami met with Nerazzurri directors today to discuss the situation.
The price-tag is €50m and has been for six months already, despite offers from Chelsea, Napoli and Arsenal.
Inter will use players to lower the cost of the operation, but so far Cagliari have turned down their options.
Sky Sport Italia claim the deadlock could be broken by including Karamoh, the 20-year-old attacking winger currently on loan with Girondins de Bordeaux.
The Nerazzurri paid €6.5m to take him from Caen in 2017, but he struggled to make an impact at San Siro.
Sportitalia point to other candidates including Federico Dimarco, Facundo Colidio and current Italy U20 World Cup striker Sebastiano Esposito.
