Former Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli blames Cristiano Ronaldo for Max Allegri’s exit and insists Gianni Agnelli “would never have chosen Maurizio Sarri, as he has no class.”

The former Empoli and Napoli tactician’s arrival in Turin seems imminent as soon as he secures his contract release from Chelsea.

The former Empoli and Napoli tactician’s arrival in Turin seems imminent as soon as he secures his contract release from Chelsea.

However, it’s not just Napoli figures like Lorenzo Insigne who are irritated by the potential switch to rivals Juventus.

“As a fan, I say no, but as a director perhaps yes,” former Juventus President Cobolli Gigli told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Sarri has no class, regardless of whether he dresses in a suit or a tracksuit. I won’t forget the middle finger he flashed at the Juve fans when he was on the team bus. He can stick that finger somewhere else…

“I don’t think L’Avvocato Gianni Agnelli would’ve chosen someone like Sarri. He is a fine Coach, but in terms of communication, he was never able to say anything less than unpleasant and malevolent towards Juve.

“When he gets angry, he throws his hat to the ground and swears. He can train in a tracksuit or with a tie, but either way you need class.”

The incident occurred in April 2018, when Sarri was photographed ‘flipping the bird’ to Juventus fans as the team bus reached the stadium in Turin.

Sarri later assured he had no problem with Juve fans, but had only turned to those who were spitting at the bus and hurling abuse.

Cobolli Gigli is not impressed with current Bianconeri chiefs Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici either, as they dismissed Max Allegri after five consecutive Serie A titles.

“I fully understand that Sarri wants to come back to Italy to see his parents and home town, but as a fan, I’d be really unhappy seeing him at Juve. After just one year of his contract at Chelsea, he discovered that he wanted to return to Italy?

“In my view, it all started with Cristiano Ronaldo. He arrived and Juve were unable to play the style of football he demanded. Now the club, more specifically Paratici and Nedved, are seeking a Coach who can make more of Ronaldo’s abilities, which means making compromises.

“At this moment, Agnelli is the only one who knows how to communicate. Nedved says ‘Allegri remains 100 per cent’ one week, then a week later ‘I don’t know, we’ll see.’ He is a Vice-President who knows about football, but doesn’t know how to communicate.

“Ever since Beppe Marotta left, and of course Gianni Agnelli died, Juve have had a problem with communication.”
