Bologna have announced permanent deals for midfielder Roberto Soriano and forward Nicola Sansone.

The pair joined on loan from Villarreal in January with options to buy, and Bologna confirmed on Thursday that they had exercised both rights of purchase.

In Sansone’s case, his was an obligation to buy – the conditions of which had already been met.

Soriano put an indifferent first half to the season with Torino behind him to score two goals in 17 appearances for the Rossoblu.

The former Sassuolo attacker, meanwhile, managed as many goals in two less games as the Emilia-Romagna side staged the great escape in Serie A.

Their transfers are expected to be followed by a long-term contract for Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.
