Kostas Manolas believes Greece will beat Italy in a Euro 2020 qualifier, he’s ready to face Roma teammate Nicolò Zaniolo, but won’t rule out a Juventus move.

The Azzurri face the Greeks in Athens tomorrow night in Euro 2020 qualifying and the big defender was confident about his country’s chances.

“I know Italy very well, but I’m thinking about my own team, everything depends on us,” he said at his Press conference while on international duty.

“Roberto Mancini wants his team to attack and they play good football, but we’ll see what the result will be at the end of the game. I’m optimistic, we are confident and are mentally focused on winning.

“We played very well against Bosnia, even if they did give us some difficulties. However, our fans will be here to support and motivate us. We’ve made a good start to qualifying and we want to do our best tomorrow. I think we will win.”

Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini earlier praised the Greek defence and picked out the partnership of Manolas and Sokratis Papastathopoulos in particular.

This prompted reporters to ask in the Press conference if Manolas thought he’d be teammates with Chiellini next season at Juventus.

“I heard what Chiellini said, and I’d like to thank him for his words, he is one of the best in the world. I don’t know if we’ll be teammates.

“Zaniolo is already my teammate, he’s a young player who has just played his first year in Serie A, he’s fast and technical, but I’ll be ready for him.”
