Inter have definitively pulled the plug on Mauro Icardi, will try to force him to accept a transfer, with Roma a likely destination in swaps with Edin Dzeko, Stephan El Shaarawy and Aleksandar Kolarov.

According to Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio this evening, new Coach Antonio Conte and the directors have decided Icardi will never play for the Nerazzurri again.

The striker is refusing to budge and insists he will reject any transfer, perhaps hoping to wait until his contract has expired in 2021 so he can leave as a free agent.

Inter are threatening to leave him out of the squad entirely if he does that, and are purchasing several strikers to ensure he is fifth in the pecking order, so another ugly cold war is developing just months after the row that saw him stripped of the captaincy.

According to Adnkronos and Goal.com, Inter are trying to push Icardi towards accepting Roma, as it’d allow for a massive swap deal involving Edin Dzeko, Aleksandar Kolarov and Stephan El Shaarawy.

Giallorossi CEO Guido Fienga has been in contact with Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio to talk about the possibility of making a package deal involving three of their players plus money for the Argentine striker.
