Roma could end up handing youth team player Gianmarco Cangiano as compensation for poaching Torino director of sport Gianluca Petrachi.
The situation is somewhat awkward, because Petrachi has already started working for Roma, albeit in an unofficial capacity.
He was spotted at the airport returning from a meeting in Madrid with Shakhtar Donetsk Coach Paulo Fonseca’s representatives.
His contract with Torino runs to June 2020 and he had hoped a simple letter of resignation would suffice, but the Granata want some form of compensation.
In order to avoid Toro taking legal action that could see Petrachi suspended, the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport suggest Roma will offer a youth team player to smooth things over.
The name considered is Cangiano, a 17-year-old left-sided winger who this season has contributed 15 goals and eight assists in 38 competitive games.
