Newly-promoted Lecce could make Cagliari’s Diego Farias their first major signing of the summer, for a fee of approximately €6m.
According to SportItalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, the Sardinians value their Brazilian forward at €7.5m, but the Salentini are only willing to offer €6m.
However, an agreement could be reached bridging the gap with bonuses.
The 29-year-old spent the second half of the season on loan at Empoli and scored four times in 16 matches with the Tuscan club.
Farias came through the Chievo youth team ranks, spending his entire career in Italy, while also qualifying for the Serie A home-grown player quotas.
