Ex-Roma man Ricky Massara is the new favourite to become Milan director of sport, while Zvonimir Boban is working to free himself from FIFA.
Igli Tare had been the first choice for the role of sporting director in the new Milan, but he turned down the job in order to remain with Lazio.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, among others, the most likely candidate now is Frederic ‘Ricky’ Massara, who was just released from his contract at Roma.
He had been Monchi’s assistant and then took over the main job when the Spaniard resigned in March.
Roma let Massara go last week after reaching an agreement with Torino director Gianluca Petrachi.
Meanwhile, Boban is also on his way to become a technical director at his old club, but must first secure his release from FIFA.
He still has some work to do in that role and wants to finish it before he moves on to Milan.
